We help anyone who is currently experiencing and facing homelessness and anyone in genuine need of assistance due to financial hardship.

WHERE DOES PETS OF THE HOMELESS WORK?
Currently we only provide assistance to residents in Victoria.
HOW DO YOU ASSIST/ HOW DOES SOMEONE ACCESS YOUR SERVICE?
As we do not provide a public facing service, we provide pet food to our Community Partners for distribution to people in need. If you are in need of some pet food, you will need to contact or go to these partners to access the pet food.
In order to receive assistance with veterinary care and emergency boarding, we will need an individual to be supported by a case worker from a social service organisation. We are a very small organisation and have very limited capacity to deal directly with clients. Our service model is designed for efficiency, allowing us to continue to provide the services for many more people and pets in need.

DOES PETS OF THE HOMELESS WORK WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS?
We work in partnerships with other organisations every single day in order to deliver our service. This increases our effectiveness and enables us to reach more people than ever before. One our core values is ‘strength in working together’, so collaboration is key.
DO YOU ACCEPT DONATION OF ITEMS AND WHAT WOULD ACCEPT?
We normally do, however we have stopped accepting any physical items for now as we prepare for our move to our brand spanking new warehouse in 2019. When we do accept donations, we only accept pet items such as pet food, toys, jackets and bedding in a brand new or good condition. We do not accept items such as towels, pillows, doonas and big blankets.
WHERE CAN I DROP OFF DONATIONS?
We are currently not accepting any donations until we move into our warehouse in 2019.
DO YOU ACCEPT OPENED BAGS OF PET FOOD?
Unfortunately due to health and safety reasons, we are only able to accept unopened and in date food.
ARE DONATIONS TO YOUR CHARITY TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?
Pets Of The Homeless is a registered charity therefore any cash donation over $2 are tax-deductible.
