FAQ

Photoshoot

How do I pick a session?
You can pick a time slot at the time of booking. This is available on our online booking form.

What time do I need to arrive?
Please arrive 15 mins before your scheduled session to give your pet plenty of time to adjust to his/her new surroundings.

How long will the photoshoot take?
Each participant is allocated a one hour time slot but the photoshoot will conclude once the photographer is confident that they have necessary shots required for the calendar. This could take 15 minutes or it could take up to 30 minutes.

Photo viewing
Please note photo viewing option will not be available on the day. Our photographer will take several photos during your session and hand pick the best photo for your package, ensuring your photo is PAWfectly stunning.

What if I can’t make the photo session? I know the bookings are non-refundable but is it transferable?
Yes of course. If you are unable to make it on the day, just let us know who will be replacing you so that we can have the correct information needed for the calendar.

What happens if it rains on the day of the photoshoot?
It is Melbourne so chances are it will only rain for just a few minutes but if it does go on for longer than expected, we will have a back up plan to shoot indoors. Rain, hail or shine, the photoshoot will go ahead.

How many pets can I have in the photoshoot?
The photoshoot is only for ONE pet and up to TWO people. If you would like to include another pet, you will need to book for another shoot.

Can I bring a cat, bird and/or reptile?
Yes, most definitely if they are comfortable with being outdoors. Please ensure your pets are in a secure pet carrier to ensure their safety.

Will the pet need to be on leash for the photoshoot ?
To ensure the safety of your pets, they will need to be on a leash for the duration of the photoshoot unless we deem it to be safe for them to be off leash. If your pet was photographed with a leash on, we will try our best to edit the image to remove it.

What is included in the booking fee?
You will receive a lovely photoshoot with a professional pet photographer, two high resolution (jpeg, 300dpi, 2480 pixels x 3508 pixels) images and the chance to be featured in the Pets Of The Homeless Love Tales 2018 calendar!

How do I get the images from the photo shoot? What if I wanted to purchase additional photos?
The images will be available to view and download after the shoot from an online gallery and each participant will be emailed a link to the online gallery where they will get a voucher valued at $50 to choose their TWO favourite photos from the day to download. Additional images can also be purchased for $25 each.

Calendar feature

How will the final result look?
Our photographer will take as many images as needed to get the PAWfect shot! The best two will be selected – one pet-only picture, and one of pet and owner – for use in the competition. The owner will also be asked a couple of questions about why they support Pets of the Homeless and what their pet means to them. Our favourite quotes will be published alongside images featured in the calendar.

Competition/Voting

How does the competition work?
After your photoshoot, we will choose the images we think will best suit the calendar and we will upload them to the website for the public to vote. The Top 12 images will be featured in our Love Tales 2018 calendar.

When do we get to vote?
Voting will commence on the 16th of October 2017 and it will end at 11.59pm on the 31st of October 2017.

I would like to come to the photoshoot but I am not interested in participating in the competition. Can I opt out?
No unfortunately all participants will need to be featured in our calendar competition. By booking the Love Tales photoshoot, participants agree to allow Pets Of The Homeless and Love Tails Photography to use the images in our fundraising and promotional materials.

How often can a person vote?
Each person is only allowed to vote once.

When and how will the winner be announced?
We will announce the winners on the 1st of November 2017. Winners will be notified via email and the results will also be published on the website and via social media.
