We believe that no one should have to make the heart-wrenching choice between feeding themselves or their beloved pets.
That’s why we provide nutritious pet food to people facing homelessness and financial hardship. By ensuring pets are well-fed, we alleviate the burden on their guardians, allowing them to allocate their resources more effectively. This not only means more food on the table for themselves, but also a few extra dollars to cover other essential needs.
Food insecurity is a pressing issue across Australia, and for those struggling to provide for their pets, the consequences extend beyond hunger. Many face the heartbreaking decision to surrender their pets due to feelings of guilt and the inability to meet their needs.

At our Pet Food Bank in Cheltenham, donated or purchased food is repackaged into smaller portions and distributed through our network of community partners across Victoria.
These partners, including soup kitchens, food pantries, and drop-in centres, directly support individuals facing hardship in their local communities. This collaborative approach ensures that anyone in need can access support close to home, extending our reach far beyond our physical location.
Since our establishment in 2015, the Pets Of The Homeless Pet Food program has provided millions of meals to pets and their guardians during challenging times. We operate independently of government funding and are not a full-time pet food provider but rather a supplemental resource to support those in need.
Together, we keep people and their beloved pets together, offering a lifeline when it’s needed most.

I had one client call up after collecting a food parcel to say how fantastic it was that we were able to provide cat and dog food. She said she was so grateful and stated, 'My dog loves that food and you have no idea how much it helps, as it is one less expense I have to worry about.
A client who was in reception collecting a food parcel came up to the reception desk to thank us for the cat and dog food she had just received. She was almost in tears when she told me that it was such a relief to know that she could get pet food from us, because in the past she had often gone without food herself, in order to buy food for her cat and dog.
